Most people my age think spending time with their parents is a bit cringe – and it can be – but don’t tell anyone this, but I secretly enjoy hanging out with my mum and dad. I get around this unspoken rule by helping out at Har Har’s Joke Shop, which they own. We live in the flat above. 

My life revolves around the usual stuff: seeing friends, watching make-up tutorials on YouTube, listening to music and updating all of my social media accounts. There’s so many to check – it’s a full-time job. Mum says she can’t remember the last time she saw me without my phone in my hand. I’m sure I put it to one side a few weeks ago. Or maybe I dreamt that?

When I’m not doing all that – and it does take up most of my time – I like shopping and going to the cinema. Other than that, I always seem to have loads of homework to do, and that makes me a bit stressed. Homework is so pointless! 

My brother and sister Hani and Harsha annoy me sometimes. I think they do it on purpose, actually. I like looking after them but they always seem to play pranks on me and I don’t like it, especially if I’m not in the mood for that. If I’m worrying about school and they play a joke on me, that’s when I unleash my grumpy side, so look out!

Even though I get homework constantly, school is actually alright. I enjoy doing art classes the most. It’s my favourite subject and I really pay attention. No sneaky looks at my social media during that hour, at least. I want to be a fashion designer when I’m older, so it’s important to learn as much as I can. 

When I’m a fashion designer, maybe I could design some clothes for my dad that aren’t totally cringe. Have you seen his suits?
